Exercise-A Way Of Life

July 12th, 2013

Exercise is key to a healthy lifestyle. There is simply no denying it. No matter how much you may not want to, you should try to get at least a little exercise a day and you can build from there. Something as simple as taking a walk.

Picking up some ankle weights at the store and wearing them while you clean, can make a world of difference. There are too many 5 minute work outs to name but go get one and get started there. The old “take the stairs” instead of the elevator is a good one.
Swimming is an awesome way to get exercise plus it’s easy on the joints so it’s great for people who can’t normally walk, stand or exercise too much.

Is there a lake or park nearby. These are excellent places to walk. They provide not only the opportunity to walk or run, but generally are great places to de-stress and just enjoy the scenery while your at it. The exercise and the scenery can take a load of stress off your shoulders. All in all the point is really to just get moving, even a little at a time will make you feel better and give you more energy.

Herbalife is not just a temporary fix. Sure you can lose weight quickly but if you want to live healthier and have more energy on a constant basis you need to stick with the products. The plans are easy to follow and easy to use.

You don’t start eating healthy and exercising to lose weight and once you have reached your goal suddenly stop eating all that “good for you” food and start hanging out at fast food joints do you? Of course not! You need to continue trying to eat well and exercise so that you stay at your goal weight and stay healthy!

Herbalife works the same way as any other nutritional program. The program will change a bit, you will probably change the way you take the products, but Herbalife is a way of life. Each product is specifically designed to work synergistically with the other products Herbalife offers to feed your cells the good nutrition you may have been lacking.

Herbalife products work for you, but only if your ready to really give it your all. It’s that time of the year, summer’s here, look great and get into that swim suit before the cold months arrive!

Emotional Eating

June 8th, 2013

helppillsnutiritonWhat is emotional eating? Emotional eating is something that happens to almost everyone at some time or another in life. Everyone, both male and female have at one point or another, felt sad or angry or anxious and reached or a plate of cookies or maybe it was pasta.

Whatever the food you probably know what I’m talking about. It happens to everyone. There are, however, some who do this on a daily basis. The trouble with emotional eating is that it may show up on the scale but it begins in the mind. Stress takes its toll on your life. When your defenses are compromised your health takes a hit and so do your emotions.

Everyone has good days and bad days. How we address the bad ones can cause an emotional roller coaster within that causes us to eat to avoid the pain. You look for comfort from your pain. People who turn to food to find comfort find a coping mechanism that seems to make them feel better.

That is the main problem and what makes this method of “dealing so much a problem is that eating pleasurable foods can stimulate the release of endorphins just like exercise. So, after you eat, you feel better.
But, how do you know you are using food in this way?

The first sign is obvious. You will gain weight if you eat too much. In light of the weight gain, examine other areas of your life:

* Have you been under stress lately at work or at home?

* Are the people in your life supportive of you and what you do?

* Has anything traumatic happened in the last year?

* Do you eat when you are not necessarily hungry but more when you are stressed, sad or anxious?

Answering “yes” to any of these questions could mean that you are an emotional eater. The foods that you choose are what we term “comfort foods”:

* High fat foods like French fries, fried foods

* High carb foods like pasta, rice or mashed potatoes

* Sugary foods like cookies, ice cream, cake, donuts and candy

Recognizing that you may have a problem is the first step to conquering it. At first, you may have to alternate your foods because cutting them out altogether may not work, when you notice yourself reaching for that treat that you really don’t need, try to get a glass of water or some carrot sticks. Of course its hard! You are used to a whole different way of life. But if your reading this then you obviously want to do something about it so you must try and try and try until you succeed.

Secondly, seek counseling. If the emotional issues are deep or dark you may need to seek counseling to help with the root of the problem, there is nothing wrong with this. You can not always talk to your friends or family and they are usually not trained to help you get to the base of your problem so if you think this is needed please do it. You want to be a better you and sometimes that means you need a little help from an objective, and highly trained individual to cut through to the problem before you can solve them or learn to live with them in a healthy manner.

Thirdly, many times you can rely on your friends or family. They can learn what triggers your eating habits and be on the lookout for changes in them. They can help you be aware of the foods you are eating, assist you in making healthy food choices and exercise along with you. Proper diet and exercise increases immunity, blood flow and positive thinking. Yoga enhances the mind/body connection so you don’t eat when you aren’t hungry.

If you are overweight, many times this alone can leave you feeling depressed, inadequate and cause very low self esteem and trigger emotional eating. Prior to eating you may convince yourself that you don’t care and that your over weight anyhow but immediately after you may experience a deep regret and self loathing for eating the way you just did. Our mind can play tricks on us and sometimes we are our own worst enemies when we try to justify what we are about to do. Losing weight can be an incredible self esteem booster that gets you back on track and realizing who you really are and all your meant to be.

Health and Nutrition

October 26th, 2012

Better health starts with better nutrition and exercise. Making sure you get the nutrition you need is vital to living and feeling great. No one can predict the future but you can do your best to ensure whatever the future holds your body can perform at its optimum level.

Eating better is key and adding daily supplements helps your body to get exactly what you need. More and more people are taking daily vitamins in addition to watching what they eat. The reason for this is that it has become more and more difficult to get the minerals and vitamins your body needs in the food you eat. The soil that your food is grown in is being depleted of those minerals. We are eating more fast food and easy to prepare foods with added preservatives, which are bad for the body on top of lacking nutrition.

Herbalife offers an easy solution to getting the vitamins and minerals you need. You take 1 or 2 shakes a day, depending on if you want to lose or maintain weight and add in the supplements they offer. That’s it. More nutrition less effort. Perfect for your busy day.

Snack Attack!

September 24th, 2012

Need to Lose Weight? Need some great tips?

Watch out for the snack attacks. It is very easy to justify what you eat when you are snacking. When you are exercising sometimes you may think it’s ok to eat more in a snack because you will work it all off. A peanut butter cup here, a few chips there, something small, no real harm done right?

The problem is those are not healthy snacks even if you are exercising, you could still be putting yourself and your weight loss at risk. If you ever stop exercising you will still have those old eating habits, you will gain your weight back and once you gain your weight back, there is a good chance you will gain more then you had originally lost.

It’s ok to ” cheat” once in a while but make sure you are not doing this everyday. Its a really bad habit to get into and you may just start to open the door for more unhealthy eating at meal time. Even worse if you a re trying to lose weight those empty calories are replacing any that you would have lost.

Try to find snacks that you really do like but that are healthier for you. If you like to eat cookies try granola bars, the flavors and brands have drastically changed over the years and you can now get fairly healthy granola bars that you will actually like. Yogurt is another good choice. Often, fruits or vegetables don’t sound appealing but once you begin to eat them you realize how tasty they really are and what a great satisfying snack they make. Making good snack choices now will help you lose more weight keep it off in the future.

If you need help with your diet, Herbalife offers several weight loss programs that can help you lose the weight, getting your body good nutrition and we even have tasty good for you snacks to curb your appetite when your having a hard time. For more information visit http://dietsandvitamins.com

Chromium Supplements

September 24th, 2012

Chromium is an important nutrient involved in the metabolism of glucose. Simply put chromium is needed for energy. It is a key component in the synthesis of fats, cholesterol and proteins. Chromium helps to maintain stable blood sugar.

The Average American diets is chromium deficient. The reason for this is that the form in which chromium is available in foods is generally not easily absorbed. For this reason many turn to chromium supplements. A deficiency in Chromium can lead to

  • Anxiety
  • Fatigue
  • Glucose Intolerance
  • Poor metabolism of amino acids

Taking chromium supplements may help to promote lean muscle mass and fat loss. Which is another reason chromium supplements have become so popular.

When you consume too many carbohydrates, your body often experiences a sudden increase in blood sugar and insulin levels, which causes it to store fat.

Gymnema, a key ingredient in Snack Defense, helps decrease the rate of which your body absorbs glucose. Herbalife combines chromium with Gymnema and together, these help the body by allowing insulin to perform its function, thereby increasing cell-absorption of glucose.
